I pull conventional. I always start really doing some serious pulling in January. Thats just really getting started. Trying to get the back feeling strong again. I hope to pull some serious weight at our next meet. Bench and squats Im not really concerned with. They are really good already. Thanks for the comments!

Yeah my deads are insanely strong year round as well as squats so I was trying some challenging lifts to exhaust them further. The meet is at the end of march maybe early April. Its the Pittsburgh Monster Bench and deadlift meet.

PostSubject: Squat day   Preparation for 2010 Pittsburgh Monster Bench and Deadlift meet Icon_minitimeFri Jan 22, 2010 10:33 am

1/21/2010

Start of heavy squats again. Went pretty good. Everything done was raw until noted for knee wraps.

135x10x2sets
225x10
315x3
405x3
Belt only:
495x3
545x3
Light knee wrap:
585x3
615x1
655x1
675x1
710x1

Raw Leg Presses until noted with knee wraps:

600x12
720x12
850x3
950x3
1100x3
Knee wraps(Convicts)
1250x5
1325x5
1490x3
1600x3
1730x3
1755x3

Leg press was always'easy' for me. I really hammer them out when prepping for a meet to build stability in the legs so as the back doesnt have to over-compensate. Hoping to be pressing a ton or more on it consistently in the next month or so.

PostSubject: Squat Day   Preparation for 2010 Pittsburgh Monster Bench and Deadlift meet Icon_minitimeTue Feb 09, 2010 8:32 pm

Decided to try some heavy squats with reverse bands. Went astoundingly well. All was done as stated

Raw(no belt or wraps)
225x5
315x5
405x3
515x3
Added belt and small purple bands hung over top of squat rack
605x3
655x3
705x1
785x1
825x1
Added Convict Pro knee wraps Medium tight
855x2
905x1
945x1
985x1

All weight was walked out too. I weighed 265 at squat time. the bands should have taken off around 140 at bottom. Decided not to use suit yet because raw squat are doing phenomenal. Will probably start using my single ply TRX in a couple weeks and try some over 1000 pounders withsome reverse bands. I should be able to hit a 1000 in suit right now but want to get raw core strong. Walking out 985 was extremely easy.

PostSubject: Squats again lol   Preparation for 2010 Pittsburgh Monster Bench and Deadlift meet Icon_minitimeMon Feb 15, 2010 11:02 pm

Completely raw
135x8
250x8
335x5
425x5
515x5
Medium reverse bands and belt
565x5
665x5
725x3
Added light single ply suit using only bottoms
775x3
825x3
Added APT Convict Pro Wraps
900x3
900x3

All squats were very easy. Figured I would stop there. I know I have an easy 1000 lb squat with straps up in suit. Squats are going insanely well. I am going to do some 800s for reps to keep strength up and build more quad stability.

These were my first time trying the new 3 ply APEX bench shirt. IT IS INSANE the support it gives. I know I will put up some insane numbers with this shirt. I weighed 259 today. So I am sure with some serious training I should do good at the meet in April

PostSubject: Some more deadlifts!   Preparation for 2010 Pittsburgh Monster Bench and Deadlift meet Icon_minitimeMon Mar 29, 2010 6:35 pm

All deads are done raw(as always) BW 265
245x6
335x6
425x6
495x6
555x3
625x2
685x1
725x1
I say '725' but I am not taking in to account that our 4 100lb plates weigh 110 each lol and our 45s are all 49-50 lbs each. I really don't think about it too much because when I go to the meet the same weight will hopefully feel lighter! I should be good for a mid7 pull at the meet April 11th! cheers

HAHAHA Thanks for the comment brother. I did do good at the meet but not like I should have. I only did two pulls due to a nagging cramp in the lower back that had been plauging me for weeks. I did manage a 675 raw pull very easy My 3rd planned was 730-740 but passed on it. But now I am feeling much better in the back and will redeem it sometime this year!!
